Lynn Dill
Lynn Dill carries almost 20 years of experience as a journalist/copywriter. In 1988 she began her freelance career at a daily newspaper in the Midwest. She has written hundreds of articles, in a wide array of areas, including business and personality profiles; city council and school board coverage; special event pieces; and religious, youth and news articles. She also spent a year as a Lifestyle Reporter for a daily newspaper.

In this role, she used her talents to write stories that captured the essence of her subject and captivated the attention of her readers. She enjoyed the opportunity to meet a wide variety of people from all walks of life. Everyone, she discovered, had a story, waiting to be released. As a Lifestyle Reporter, she laid out and coordinated a weekly social page. On a Saturday rotation, she laid out, proofed and finalized pages for Sunday and Monday's newspaper editions.

Later, Lynn expanded her freelance career to include work for an advertising agency, businesses and non-profit organizations. In this capacity, she contributed her skills to produce bios, web copy, brochures, newsletters, professional letters and articles, radio and television copy and booklets.

Along with her freelance projects, Lynn is currently working to complete a journalism book, aimed at students in grades 4-12. Each section includes activities for younger, middle and older students. The book was birthed out of her own experience home educating three of her four children. She discovered that her children loved interviewing people and writing stories. Initially, she assigned a few stories. Later, they would come to her with stories of the interviews that they'd completed on their own.

If journalism appealed to her children, she believed that other children would also enjoy the opportunity to learn the basic skills of a journalist and excitedly begin sharing these stories with family and friends. After teaching journalism at a homeschool learning cooperative, she decided to take action and begin work on the book that she believes teaches children the art of writing without them even realizing that they're actually learning. In their eyes, they're just having fun.
